The Vice President, Finance is a leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial operations, reporting, and strategic financial planning for the organization. This position ensures the integrity of financial information, compliance with applicable regulations, and the development of strong internal controls.
Requirements
- Prepare and oversee monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Perform monthly budget vs. actual analysis and provide insights on variances
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on significant budget variances, recommending corrective actions as needed
- Supervise and develop accounting, finance, and payroll staff
- Evaluate, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and financial processes
- Lead annual audit process, including preparation of work papers and draft GAAP financial statements
- Prepare tax return work papers and coordinate with external tax advisors
- Serve as liaison between Information Technology personnel and the accounting team to ensure system alignment and efficiency
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Manage and execute special financial projects as assigned
- Review and analyze contracts for financial impact and compliance
- Prepare required Major League Baseball reports (e.g., FIQ, Revenue Sharing, Special Projects)
- Respond to and manage IRS inquiries and related compliance matters
- Other duties as assigned
