Job Description
Performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations under the direction of a pediatric cardiologist. Compiles history and diagnostic information from the ultrasound examination and presents the pediatric cardiologist with preliminary sonographic findings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in pediatric echo
- Certification from The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, doppler physics, and the hemodynamics of blood flow in relation to the various disease states
