Special Education Teacher

Ombudsman Educational Services seeks a Special Education Teacher to join their award-winning Alternative Education team in Chicago, IL. The role involves leading instructional processes for High School students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and creating personalized learning experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for empowering students with diverse learning needs and a commitment to student growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education, or a closely related field of study
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL professional educator (PEL) credential
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL special education (SEE) credential
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company-approved crisis management training
• Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction
• Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance
• Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students
