Mid-Sr Software Engineer

Omitron, Inc. is seeking a Mid-to-Senior Software Engineer to serve as the Technical Lead for Cross Domain Solution (CDS) data schema development supporting the MASCCOT program in Colorado Springs, CO office. This role provides architectural leadership for schema-driven data transformation enabling secure cross-domain transfer across operational networks.

Requirements

• US Citizenship required
• Security Clearance: None required, but candidates must be eligible to obtain a US Government security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Demonstrated experience leading a technical workstream or mentoring a small engineering team.
• Strong experience working with structured or schema-driven data formats (e.g., XML, JSON, fixed-width, delimited, or binary encodings).
• Experience implementing data validation, parsing, or serialization frameworks.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or similar).
• Experience using Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience designing and maintaining automated test suites (unit, integration, regression).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment.
