Network Engineer 2

The Network Engineer 2 is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing Berkshire Hathaway Energy’s enterprise network infrastructure.

Requirements

• Configure, support, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless systems, and related network services.
• Deploy and integrate new network technologies and solutions in alignment with architectural standards, operational requirements, and lifecycle roadmaps.
• Implement network changes using established change management, security, and compliance processes.
• Develop, maintain, and leverage network automation and scripting solutions to improve consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor network performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues to support reliable operations.
• Support network segmentation, routing policies, and access design to meet business and operational requirements.
• Participate in network lifecycle activities, including technology evaluations, hardware refreshes, software upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, systems, and application teams to support enterprise IT and operational technology (OT) connectivity needs.
• Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, standards, and procedures.
• Provide Tier 2 escalation support for network incidents and service requests.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for circuit provisioning, technology implementation, and support engagements.
• Participate in on‐call rotations and scheduled after‐hours maintenance activities as required.
• Additional duties as required and assigned.
