Job Description
The 1st Assistant Engineer will be responsible for various duties related to the safe and efficient operation of the engineering department, including maintenance, supervision, and compliance with company requirements.
Requirements
- Compliance with Company’s MS requirements
- Management and supervision of the Engineering Department
- Safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all machinery
- Maintenance of waste incinerator equipment
- Safe keeping of engine room watch
- Assurance of presence in the Engine Control Room
- Protection against loss or damage
- Preparation of overtime records
- Maintenance of computerized Planned Maintenance system
- Preparation of requisitions for Engineering Department stores
- Familiarity with control piping systems, valves, and electrical systems
- Maintenance of lube oil quantities and condition
- Assistance with bunkering and transfer of bunkers
- Maintenance of fire-fighting and life-saving equipment
