A Certified Medication Aide administers medications to residents/elders in a nursing home under direction of a licensed nurse.
Requirements
- Prepare and administer medication as ordered by physician
- Document in a resident’s clinical record
- Report to the licensed nurse
- Count, administer and document-controlled substances
- Provide direct nursing care to the elders and residents as a Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA/STNA when not needed to perform Certified Medication Aide duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
