Certified Medication Aide/QMA

A Certified Medication Aide administers medications to residents/elders in a nursing home under direction of a licensed nurse.

Requirements

• Prepare and administer medication as ordered by physician
• Document in a resident’s clinical record
• Report to the licensed nurse
• Count, administer and document-controlled substances
• Provide direct nursing care to the elders and residents as a Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA/STNA when not needed to perform Certified Medication Aide duties
• Perform other duties as assigned
