Provides direct patient care by taking vitals, patient history, and performing clinical and administrative duties in the ambulatory setting. Contributes to the assessment and monitoring of patients, and assists with procedures. Maintains sterile field and specimen labeling when necessary. Reinforces patient education and arranges for hospital admissions and patient care services.
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant I or II
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (optional)
- 0-3 years of experience in Patient Care (for Certified Medical Assistant I)
- 3-5 years of experience in Patient Care (for Certified Medical Assistant II)
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification
- Certification in one of the following: Medical Assistant - American Medical Technologists (AMT), Registered Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Personnel, etc.
