Job Description
Industrial Maintenance Mechanic 2nd Class at Owens Corning, Irving, TX, 75060. The role plays a critical part in improving overall reliability and performance of manufacturing and infrastructure equipment, contributing to the growth of our Roofing plant. The position involves installing, modifying, or maintaining plant equipment, inspecting equipment, precision aligning belts, gears, or direct coupled shafts, and participating in safety and plant trainings.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and be at least 18 Years Old
- Thinking under pressure, making quick and strategic decisions
- Working independently, as well as part of a team, and have shift flexibility
- Show initiative, be a self-starter, and be able to train and coach others
- Communicate, in English, in a clear and effective manner
- Operate a computer, learn SAP and Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Lubrication principles and bearing tolerances
- Ability to take and score at an acceptable level on a Maintenance Skill Test
- Hydraulic systems, pumps, motor control, power circuitry, PLC’s, and welding
- Troubleshooting fixes and predictive maintenance work
