Registered Nurse - Chemo

Participate in patient care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinate and administer chemotherapy/biotherapy medications. Perform all job duties in compliance with practice policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Conduct accurate calculation, preparation, and administration of chemotherapy medications.
• Maintain current knowledge of chemotherapy protocols.
• Assess patients prior to, during, and after the administration of any medication.
• Document patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication, and patient condition changes, patient teaching, and medication administration in chart.
• Maintain an efficient patient flow through infusion room.
• Triage patient phone calls as needed; documents relevant information in patient chart.
• Manage patient medication refills and document in chart.
• Act as a patient advocate while providing privacy and confidentiality.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Follow OSHA guidelines for chemotherapy agents, biohazardous waste, and any potential blood borne pathogens.
• Maintain knowledge of reimbursement procedures.
• Complete charge encounters accurately.
• Comply with all rules, regulations and procedures of the practice.
