Parsons is looking for a talented Network Communications Specialist to join their team. The role involves designing and optimizing communications networks for traffic systems in Saudi Arabia.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 7 years of practical experience in the design, implementation, and operation of IP-based communications networks for ITS, transportation, SCADA, industrial control, or other critical infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of routing and switching concepts (L2/L3), including VLANs, routing protocols, redundancy mechanisms, QoS, and traffic engineering.
- Experience connecting and supporting field-based devices such as traffic signal controllers, detectors, CCTV cameras, VMS/DMS, ramp meters, PLCs, and tunnel systems.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and interpret network diagrams, rack elevations, fiber routes, and cabinet wiring schemes.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SNMP-based NMS, syslog, NetFlow, performance dashboards) for proactive fault and performance management.
- Proven capability to troubleshoot complex communications issues methodically and to coordinate effectively with multi-disciplinary technical and field teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation and explain network issues to non-network specialists.
- Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural project teams and to manage priorities across multiple architecture and integration workstreams.
