Job Description
Pattison Company is seeking Railcar Repair and Maintenance Technicians to join their team. The role involves performing hands-on repairs of stored railcars and traveling to off-site locations. The company offers competitive wages, full benefits, and room for growth.
Requirements
- Interpret blueprints and specifications to complete railcar repairs
- Hand weld in all positions (fillet and groove)
- Follow all safety regulations and work in compliance with company policies
- Ensure customer satisfaction by completing repairs to expected standards
- Maintain and complete invoicing, inspections, and work order documentation
- Obtain and maintain Single Car Testing Certification (ASCTD/MSCTD – provided by company)
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of AAR rules and regulations
- Perform railcar inspections and identify necessary repairs
- Repair and replace defective components (truck assemblies, safety appliances, brake systems, wheels, draft systems)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on railcars
- Inspect bearings, seals, gaskets, and coupler assemblies
- Test and operate engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance of railcars
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed
