Network Installation Technician (Travel)

PEAKE is seeking an experienced Network Installation Technician with strong expertise in installing CAT6 and Fiber Optic structured cable distribution systems to support an on-site installation team at China Lake, CA. The ideal candidate will have senior-level experience and leadership capability, with the ability to help strengthen the team environment and support junior technicians in the field.

Requirements

• 7+ years relevant experience in: CAT 6 and Fiber Optic structured cable distribution system installation
• Ability to terminate all forms of Ethernet and fiber by various methods, familiarity with connector types and manufacturers, experience testing single-mode and multi-mode fiber installations, experience with Fluke and OTDR testing and fiber optic troubleshooting, pulling cable, fire stopping, dressing cables, and labeling to industry standards
• Experience with Fiber Characterization testing and resolution
• Installing, terminating, and testing all forms of copper and fiber cabling
• Installing closet hardware, including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels, and fiber enclosures
• Attending training and safety meetings, and working safely at all times
• Familiarity with DISA installation procedures and operational guidelines (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, Centrix)
• Proven experience as a fiber optic specialist (BICSI Installer/Technician certification a plus)
• Leading or supervising network installation teams in field environments
• Mentoring junior technicians and supporting team development
• Providing leadership, structure, and accountability on installation projects
• Ability to obtain soldering certification through a company-supported training plan
• Willingness to complete company-supported career and professional development training as part of ongoing workforce development
