Job Description
The College/Unit of Educational Equity/Upward Bound is seeking applicants for part-time job of Science Instructor. The job duties include delivering science content to high school students, attending professional learning and orientation programming, and participating in weekly instructional staff meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with relevant teaching experience
- Undergraduate student majoring in Education or related field
- Extensive teaching assistant experience and 30 college credits
- Ability to provide own transportation to University Park campus
- Strong leadership, mentoring, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with high school youth from diverse backgrounds
- Capacity to model maturity, sound judgment, common sense, and professionalism
- Ability to enforce program and university policies consistently and objectively
- Pass all required background checks for working with minors
Benefits
- $35.00 per hour for all work
- Room and board may be provided during all residential weeks with additional programmatic responsibilities
- Program-related admission fees (tickets for museums, science centers, and other activities) are provided, if applicable
