Director of Nursing - Behavioral Health

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the provision of effective and efficient clinical services at the facility, reporting directly to the Administrator/CEO. The incumbent supervises RN’s, LPN’s, MHT’s, and contract staff, plans and organizes nursing services, and ensures compliance with laws and regulations.

• Providing in-service training to staff
• Participating in interdisciplinary treatment planning
• Managing therapeutic milieu
• Providing specialized treatments and therapies
• Ensuring competencies for staff are completed
• Providing direction and oversight for health programs
• Staying abreast of federal, state, and local laws and regulations
• Addressing and investigating staff concerns
• Planning and implementing nursing staff development programs
• Planning and implementing nursing performance improvement program
• Attending and participating in meetings
• Developing standards for recruitment and retention of nursing personnel
• Coordinating risk management activities
• Managing daily census and staffing
• Coordinating performance activity initiatives
• Coordinating pharmacy and therapeutic activity
