Covaris/Perkin Elmer is seeking an experienced Field Applications Scientist (FAS) to serve as a scientific support liaison in the field for customers and internal Sales team. The FAS will provide technical consultations, customer training, and troubleshooting support, and will represent the organization at trade shows and scientific conferences.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences discipline
- 3β5 years of hands-on laboratory experience in academic or industry research environments working with molecular biology workflows
- Foundational understanding of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies, Proteomics and DNA/RNA preparation workflows
- Hands-on experience with NGS library preparation, biomolecule extraction, including nucleic acids or proteins from tissues, FFPE samples, or cultured cells
- Exposure to DNA sequence analysis tools and bioinformatics workflows such as sequence alignment, genome visualization, or comparative genomics
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex scientific concepts in group settings
- Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot experimental workflows and analyze technical challenges in the laboratory or customer sites
- Highly organized with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and timelines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce
