Role Overview

The Director of Cloud Engineering is a strategic technical leader responsible for shaping cloud architecture direction, evolving engineering practices, and ensuring our cloud platforms remain secure, compliant, scalable, and efficient.

What You Will Do

Define, evolve, and communicate Pfizer’s multi-cloud engineering strategy and roadmap. Lead the adoption of modern cloud-native architectures and engineering patterns across Pfizer Digital. Oversee the design and governance of standards for multi-cloud infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
• 10–15+ years of experience in cloud or software engineering, platform architecture, or infrastructure leadership roles.
• At least 5 years leading multiple engineering teams or large, complex technical organizations.
• Deep expertise across at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with strong multi-cloud familiarity.
• Expert-level experience designing and deploying infrastructure using IaC tools.
• Strong programming and automation experience (Python preferred).
• Proven track record influencing across large matrixed organizations.
• Strong leadership capabilities, with experience coaching and developing senior engineers.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities, define long-term strategy, and deliver high-value outcomes.
• Customer-centric mindset with the ability to align cloud capabilities to business needs.
