The Building Automation Engineer will be responsible for managing the building automation architecture, designing, installing, troubleshooting and repairing devices, fixtures, and panels related to the BAS control equipment. The individual will collaborate with other facilities employees, engineers, and contractors to provide efficient and cost-effective facilities.
Requirements
- B.S Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree
- 3-5 years minimum work experience with Building Automation Systems
- 2-4 years working in Facilities Management environment
- Experience w/ Siemen’s Desigo and/or Niagara AX systems preferred
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, electrical and electronic engineering as it applies to HVAC controls & Building Automation Systems
- Strong knowledge of network types and protocols
- Ability to perform basic BAS programming: function libraries, Java, and IEC61131 preferred
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge with HVAC and electrical systems
- Ability to read electrical one line drawings / schematics and mechanical drawings/specs
- Good decision making and project management skills
- Proficiency of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Able to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks
- Develops team members through mentoring and coaching in complex subjects
- Strong communication skills
- Strong self-motivator
