Substation Technician B

Substation Technician - B is a non-exempt position in the construction, maintenance and repair of substation equipment / systems. Substation Technician- B has a 4-6 year continuous working knowledge of 525 kv and below substation equipment, apparatus, and wiring.

Requirements

• Perform rigorous physical labor
• Climb and work at heights up to 125 feet above ground
• Possess a Commercial Drivers' License
• Maintain Company vehicles, test equipment and tools in good working conditions
• Work with energized high voltage systems
• Operate various types of heavy equipment
• Follow Company safety rules and policies
• Interpret substation structural drawings and communicate with customers and subordinates
• Coach subordinates on the crew
• Develop and interpret a material list
• Trace out phasing in a substation and verify to the three line diagrams
