Substation Technician B is a non-exempt position responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of substation equipment and systems. The position requires 4-6 years of continuous working knowledge of substation equipment and systems, and the ability to work in confined spaces and elevated work areas.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of continuous working knowledge of substation equipment and systems
- Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated work areas
- Valid Commercial Drivers' License
- Rigorous physical labor
- Climbing and working at heights up to 125 feet above ground
- Lifting in excess of 50 lbs
- Working in close proximity of energized substation equipment
- Interpreting substation structural drawings
- Coaching subordinates on the crew
- Developing and interpreting a material list
- Tracing out phasing in a substation
- Establishing grade, elevations, and layout of foundations and cable trough
- Performing routine carpentry work on building wood concrete forms
