Job Description
Deputy Probation Officer I - Field position available in Auburn, CA and surrounding areas. Requires a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, administration of justice, or a closely related field. Must be at least 21 years old and pass a background investigation. The eligible list created by this recruitment may be used to fill future County-wide vacancies for permanent positions.
Requirements
- Interview adults or youth, their families, and interested individuals
- Read police reports and other psychological and medical evaluations
- Conduct investigations in all youth matters referred to the Probation Department
- Represent the Probation Department in the various pre-adjudicatory hearings
- Prepare court reports making recommendations for dispositions
