The Corrosion Technician role is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and designing cathodic protection systems and equipment to ensure compliance with regulations and company procedures. This is a field-based role with frequent work in open environments with extremes of heat and cold, requiring safety accommodations and occasional travel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to speak, read, and write English and perform basic math
- Must be working toward AMPP CP Tester #1 Certification and obtain within 2 years
- General knowledge or related training/experience in pipeline system operations
- Ability to read and interpret pipeline maps, technical drawings, and technical schematics
- Ability to work in a team-based work environment with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and experience in the maintenance and use of various equipment and processes
- Good computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office suite with strong emphasis on Excel and/or other spreadsheet applications
- Familiarity with PHMSA and OSHA regulations and Plains' operating procedures
- Outstanding safety record
- Ability to work in moderate to heavy physically demanding working conditions
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Valid drivers' license with a clean abstract
- Cleared criminal history and satisfactory reference checks
- Compliance with the Company's drug and alcohol policy
