Police Sergeant

The Police Sergeant will supervise officers and police personnel, enforce and investigate violations of the law and University rules and regulations, and perform administrative duties.

Requirements

• Supervises assigned police officers and personnel
• Evaluates, counsels and advises subordinates
• Examines and approves reports and case files submitted by subordinates
• Investigates offenses and arrests offenders of State Criminal Law and Transportation Code violations
• Prepares comprehensive reports
• Provides professional skills to in-service seminars and training of subordinate officers
• Manages crime scenes and evidence collection and processing
• Testifies in Justice of the Peace Court as well as County and District Courts and student judicial hearings
