This role is eligible for our hybrid work model: Two days in-office. The Development Manager, Fintech will lead high-performing engineering teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and performant solutions. The role requires hands-on knowledge of Java, Spring/Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Requirements
- Hire, mentor, and coach developers to grow skills and careers
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Oversee timelines, deliverables, and commitments to ensure on-time completion
- Facilitate daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Identify and remove blockers, escalating issues where needed to maintain flow
- Act as the key bridge between Product and Development teams, ensuring clear communication of priorities, requirements, and constraints
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers to balance business outcomes with technical feasibility
- Partner with Architects and Engineering Leads to ensure alignment on design, standards, and long-term maintainability
- Ensure solutions meet defined quality, security, and performance standards as established by architecture teams
- Champion engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD, and code reviews
- Promote a culture of building reliable, scalable, and secure systems
- Identify opportunities to improve team velocity, predictability, and morale
- Support adoption of the Product Operating Model practices, including persistent teams and quarterly outcome alignment
- Partner with enablement and ops teams on tooling, metrics, and automation to enhance delivery
- Passionate about building strong, accountable teams and enabling engineers to do their best work
- Able to balance technical excellence with delivery pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using data to inform decisions and improve team performance
- Strong cross-functional collaborator with clear communication and follow-through
