Mechanical Engineer (Mid-Senior Level)

Progressive Design, Inc. is seeking an entrepreneurial spirited Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience in heavy industrial design or project engineering role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fluid mechanics, mass and heat transfer, and thermodynamics, and be able to manage the engineering and design process from inception to completion.

Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering undergraduate degree from an ABET accredited school
• 10+ years of heavy industrial experience in a design or project engineering role
• Virginia Professional Engineer preferred but not required
• Must have heavy industrial experience
• Project management experience
• Experience working in a multidiscipline engineering consulting firm
• Process safety experience (PHAs, HAZOPs, Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, Inherently Safer Design, Documentation to support process safety, etc.)
• Current working knowledge of safety relief device code requirements, calculations, sizing and system design procedures
• Current working knowledge of mechanical engineering principles with an emphasis on fluid mechanics, mass and heat transfer, and thermodynamics
• Working knowledge of incorporating safety, maintainability, constructability, and operational requirements into the design process
• Must be technically sound, and be willing to mentor junior engineers
• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Must possess uncompromised commitment to quality
• Must be US citizen, have a valid U.S. Driver's license, Clear Background, Pass a Drug test
