The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process, and finished materials to ensure products meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and internal quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of inspection techniques and the use of measurement equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and perform dimensional measurements to ensure products meet specifications
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to complete projects on schedule
- Willingness to learn and grow with increased responsibility
- Experience with ERP or quality documentation systems
- Familiarity with inspection reporting software or digital quality records
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for dimensional reporting and documentation
- Experience working within a formal Quality Management System (ISO preferred)
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to sit intermittently while completing inspections, documentation, or reporting
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle parts and operate precision measuring instruments
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and move around machinery and workstations as needed
- Visual ability to inspect small details, detect defects, and accurately read measuring instruments and technical documents
- Ability to distinguish color, surface finish differences, and material irregularities when inspecting parts
- Ability to hear and communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machine noise, moving equipment, and standard shop conditions
