Medical Director

Company located in Alameda, CA has an immediate need for a Medical Director for a direct hire position. This position reports to the Chief Medical Officer and will eventually have direct reports. The Medical Director is a member of the Medical Management Department of the health plan, and assists the Chief Medical Officer in developing and implementing clinical policy designed to meet the DHCS triple aim: improving the patient experience of care; improving the health of populations; and reducing the per capita cost of health care.

Requirements

• Current Doctor of Medicine, active, unrestricted license in the State of California, Board certified.
• Managed care environment, physician group management or integrated health care system management.
• Experience practicing medicine.
• Supervisory experience.
• MPH and/or MBA strongly preferred.
• Clinical program administration, including utilization management and/or quality management.
• Integrate clinical and financial data for improved management of clinical programs.
• California public health care programs such as Medi-Cal, Department of HealthCare Services and Department of Managed HealthCare.
