Performs field tasks including monitoring projects, filing reports, confirming manpower, equipment, subcontractor counts, lengths, and quantities completed. Assists the project manager with coordinating, planning, and scheduling functions for field construction activities. Writes RFI’s and obtains and manages submittals including uploading/downloading functions applicable to construction management software.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of construction industry engineering experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or Project Management; an advanced degree is a plus
- Knowledge of all general contract and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, and surveying instruments
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions
- Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications, and to comprehend and recognize safety standards and issues
- Ability to inspect materials and structures and to identify defects
- Thorough knowledge of current industry quality standards
- Ability to collect data, establish facts, define problems, and provide solutions
- Experience with procurement processes, budgets and cost control methods
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
