Range Energy is hiring a Prototype Fabricator to join their prototype shop team. The role involves fabricating prototype and pre-production parts and assemblies from engineering drawings, operating and maintaining fabrication equipment, and working closely with engineers to improve designs for manufacturability, quality, and speed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on fabrication experience in a professional shop, prototype, or manufacturing environment.
- Expert-level MIG & TIG welding on steel and aluminum;
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, OnShape, etc.) to work with and dissect engineering models, as well as the capability to design parts and weld fixturing.
- Proficiency with manual mills & lathes, CNC sheet metal press brakes and waterjet cutting machines.
- Strong fabrication judgment: know when a part is good enough vs. needing improvements, and can communicate that clearly.
- Comfortable in a fast-moving prototype environment where CAD and drawings may be incomplete and priorities shift quickly.
- Safety-first habits and willingness to follow strict procedures, especially around heavy equipment and energized systems.
