GIS Technician

A GIS Technician has a supportive role in the design, development and maintenance of maps and technical drawings, analyzing spatial data, digitizing, creating and maintaining digital databases, and understanding map projections and cartographic principles.

Requirements

• Produce data layers, maps, tables, or reports, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology
• Perform varied data gathering and entry to create, display, maintain, and update Geographic Information Systems (GIS) databases, coverages, and linkages to various GIS databases
• Demonstrate excellent listening skills and the ability to ask probing questions, and understand concerns to reach a mutually beneficial resolution
