Power Systems Engineer, Energy Storage

Redwood Materials is looking for a Power Systems Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in classical and modern control theory and experience developing and validating user-defined inverter or plant controller models in PSCAD and/or PSSE.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialization in power systems and control systems
• Strong foundation in classical and modern control theory
• Expert proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for control algorithm development and testing
• Experience developing and validating user-defined inverter or plant controller models in PSCAD and/or PSSE
• Hands-on experience with inverter-based resource modeling
• Solid understanding of synchronous machine dynamics and system-level stability concepts
