The Delivery Driver is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate distribution of meals and snacks to local schools.
Requirements
- Verify the daily delivery plan and assigned routes before starting deliveries.
- Maintain high standards of professional appearance and personal hygiene.
- Ensure the delivery truck has adequate fuel and complete daily truck checks.
- Inspect fruits and snacks for quality, reporting any concerns to the Operations Manager.
- Collaborate with Dispatch to confirm daily delivery plans, routes, and address any potential roadwork or delays requiring re-routing.
- Confirm customer orders against delivered products to guarantee accuracy and product quality.
- Engage with school representatives and other contacts during deliveries, demonstrating excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and polite demeanor at all times.
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections prior to departing for deliveries.
- Perform spot checks on products during delivery and unloading to ensure quality standards are met.
- Exercise sound judgment and maintain operational control of the company vehicle.
- Pack and load products onto trucks according to company specifications and unload goods to meet customer or school program needs.
- Follow all proper food handling requirements, including temperature checks for chilled products such as milk, dairy, and vegetables.
- Maintain regular communication with the route dispatcher, reporting traffic or other issues that could impact delivery times.
- Manage packing slips and delivery documentation, ensuring customers sign for receipt and noting any rejections or shortages.
- Follow company protocols when addressing customer questions or concerns, acting as a problem solver and promoting Revolution Foods’ core values and mission.
- Practice safe working habits when operating vehicles, loading and unloading, and handling equipment such as pallet jacks, dock plates, wheel chalks, mileage trackers, straps, pallets, and plastic wrap.
- Keep the interior and exterior of the truck organized, clean, and sanitary, and ensure proper care of equipment used for moving or securing products.
- Adhere to all required safe work and food safety practices, including vehicle safety precautions and wearing required PPE in designated areas.
- Correct and report any food safety or quality issues to management immediately.
- Identify and report vehicle mechanical issues, support preventive maintenance on trucks and equipment, and report any accidents or property damage immediately.
- Perform other duties as needed.
