Medical Coder

Performs a variety of tasks in the coding and billing, including claims review and submissions, technical accounts payable and receivable functions, and technical coding guidance. Analyzes and prepares Medicaid, Medicare, and insurance claims for billing, adjusts invoices, and prepares and distributes billing invoices. Responds to questions pertaining to patient invoices and payment options, investigates anomalies and discrepancies in accounts, and works with new employees to assist with work tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with or education of ICD-10 codes
• Certification by a professional association of medical or dental coders
