Job Description
The Cath Lab/Interventional Radiologic Technologist prepares and operates imaging equipment, administers contrast, assists physicians, monitors patients, and collects data for assessment.
Requirements
- Prepare equipment for Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Radiology procedures
- Accurately adjust equipment for proper exposure
- Provide patients with education and explanation of X-ray procedures
- Collect data from each procedure and enter information into computer systems
- Perform required and recommended testing with equipment and record information
- Serve as scrub assist to Cardiologist or Radiologist
- Identify opportunities for improvement in departmental operational practices
- Serve as a preceptor for new hires and provide job specific training
- Perform Laboratory testing according to CLIA 88 regulations
- Serve on call for rotating weekends, holidays, and week-nights
