Job Description
The Certified Surgical Technologist serves as the first scrub in the surgical suite, facilitating the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures through compliance with policies, protocols, and principles of asepsis.
Requirements
- Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures
- Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and solutions
- Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery
- Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients
- Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instrument counts
- Remain current and competent in knowledge and skills
- Precept new and tenured staff and surgical technology students
- Function as a superuser of selected medical equipment
- Serve on call for rotating weekend, holiday, and weeknights
- Perform other duties as assigned
