Research Assistant or Research Fellow, Optoelectronic materials synthesis

The Research Assistant/Fellow will undertake research activities in line with the University’s research strategy, focusing on advancing research in two-dimensional materials and ultra-thin material systems. The successful candidate will produce high-quality research outputs, contribute to competitive funding applications, and effectively communicate findings through publications, reports, and presentations.

Requirements

• Research experience in two-dimensional materials research, including characterization and device fabrication/testing
• Experience with large-area two-dimensional materials synthesis methods, such as Chemical Vapour deposition
• Ability to experimentally synthesise and characterise ultra-thin materials, heterostructures and electronic/photonic circuits
• Initiative in research, problem solving and competitive grant writing
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a research team and independently when required, to meet project outcomes and milestones
