This job post is for the 2026/2027 school year, starting in August 2026. Staff will report to summer PD in July 2026. The job involves delivering daily Tier II and Tier III literacy intervention in whole group, small-group, and individualized settings aligned to grade-level standards. The Literacy Interventionist will analyze literacy data, design targeted literacy lessons, and build culturally responsive classrooms that affirm scholar identity.
Requirements
- Deliver daily Tier II and Tier III literacy intervention in whole group, small-group, and individualized settings aligned to grade-level standards.
- Analyze literacy data to identify skill gaps, set ambitious growth goals, and monitor scholar progress using research-aligned assessment systems.
- Design targeted literacy lessons that address root causes of reading challenges and build comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, and writing skills using adaptive blended learning tools.
- Collaborate closely with English Language Arts teachers to ensure intervention aligns to core instruction and upcoming units.
- Build culturally responsive classrooms that affirm scholar identity, promote discussion and critical thinking, and cultivate confidence as readers and writers.
- Communicate regularly with families and scholars to share progress, promote student agency, and provide strategies to support literacy development at home.
- Participate in MTSS meetings and contribute actionable insights to support school-wide literacy outcomes.
- Support advisory, tutoring blocks, or additional student supports as needed to ensure scholars thrive academically and socially.
