Harness & Interconnect Design Engineer II

As a Harness & Interconnect Design Engineer II, you will be responsible for identifying and deriving system requirements, defining mechanical outline and construction details, and overseeing electrical layout. You will work with senior personnel on significant technical matters and develop technical solutions to complex problems related to the entire product life cycle. You will have the opportunity to grow your understanding of the aerospace industry and apply technical theories in mechanical, electrical, and/or systems engineering capabilities to develop harness and interconnect solutions.

Requirements

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and/or manufacturing of wire harnessing for military, aerospace, or commercial applications
• Demonstrated expertise with Creo Parametric (MCAD) software and Windchill (PLM)
• Familiarity with Technical Data Package (TDP) requirements to include ASME drawing standards
• Experience working with harness and interconnect manufacturers to support program needs and travel periodically to manufacturing facilities
• Demonstrated strong technical background with high technical aptitude
• Experience with industry specifications such as IPC/WHMA-A-620, SAE AS22759, J-STD-001 MIl-PRF-31032, IPC-6013, IPC-2221, or IPC-2223
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
• Very strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills when working with both technical and non-technical team members and customers
