This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Principal System Safety Engineer to join us on the Air and Space team in Tucson, AZ. As a Principal System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include Analysis of engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessment for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirement compliance. You will partner with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place. You will support all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls. You will collaborate with Program Management and government approval authorities from design, fabrication, integration and test, production to demilitarization and disposal phases. You will develop a System Safety Program and perform analyses primarily in accordance with Mil-Std-882. You will work with varying sized system safety programs and support multiple programs to include: Monitoring program technical execution, Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors) Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval Briefing program safety at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program.
