Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support assembly operations in a facility that has been transitioning to state-of-the-art equipment and advanced manufacturing processes. The role involves working cross-functionally with other engineering disciplines to optimize performance, design and arrange machines, tooling, and sequence of operations, and participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Work cross functionally with stress, design, electrical, materials and process engineers to improve product design to achieve maximum producibility
- Implement process technology upgrades by applying various engineering applications such as robotics and automation.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) events across all business processes and with all levels of leadership
- Support design and arrangement of tooling and machines of the manufacturing process (layout) collaborating with production team
- Identify opportunities on drawings and specs to influence changes to engineering designs that improve product manufacturing and producibility.
- Participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible and reduce build times and program costs during fabrication.
- Use advanced data analytics to analyze First Pass Yield (FPY) productivity and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets and improvement.
- Ensures sequence on manufacturing process and product builds complies with EH&S and Quality requirements.
- Drive problem solving initiatives & challenge status quo (Corrective Action Investigations, OEE, FPY and Customer escapes)
- Work cross functionally with Quality participating and contributing to PFMEA and Control Plans
- Participate in digital manufacturing initiatives with support from Digital Subject Matter Experts (SME)
