Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their software development team for Military Flight Management in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The engineer will work on avionics software for fixed wing platforms and develop solutions to enable new and improved functionality within the Flight Management software.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- Proven experience in the design and development of deliverable software, ideally within a production or consumer-facing environment.
- Ada or C/C++ Experience
- Familiarity with Python scripting.
- Experience with embedded real-time software development.
- Familiarity with avionics data buses and protocols, including Arinc-429, Arinc-661, and MIL-STD-1553.
- Experience with DO-178 or similar certification-based development processes.
- Experience in developing avionics displays and/or Flight Management Systems (FMS).
- AGILE development methodology experience.
- Experience with different levels of software testing, from unit-level through system integration.
