We are seeking a Senior Component Engineer to join our supply chain engineering team at Collins Aerospace, a leader in technologically advanced, intelligent solutions for the aerospace and defense industry. The successful candidate will assume the role of a Product Component Engineer (PCE), supporting all component lifecycle needs for programs and working with the Collins Component Engineering Team for expert-level support. Responsibilities will include consultation with design engineering on part selection, qualification of components, performing root cause investigation and corrective action implementation, addressing part shortages and obsolescence, and technology roadmap management.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Ability to hold a TOP SECRET DoD Clearance
- 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings and vendor component data sheets
- 2+ years of experience working with component obsolescence
- Knowledge of electrical principles and electronic components
