S&C Electric is looking for a Design Quality Engineer III to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the integration of quality principles into design projects, managing quality activities, and ensuring products meet performance and reliability goals. The role involves leading quality tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and reducing cost of poor quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in quality engineering focusing on design quality within the electrical industry or a related industry
- High level of proficiency in APQP methodologies and their application in design
- Sound knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack-up analysis
- Hands-on experience with statistical analysis tools used for quality analysis
- Rounded understanding of design validation frameworks, including Design Verification and Validation (DVV)
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
- Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function
- Good project management skills, able to successfully lead small project teams through challenges
- Sound organizational and multitasking skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced working environment
- Sound attention to detail with an analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors, and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience
- Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation). Able to liaise with key stakeholders outside the quality function in technical and non-technical roles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc), including excellent Excel skills and experience using Power BI
