The Material Handler – Basic is responsible for transporting materials from supply stores to drop-off locations using a tugger. They must utilize trigger cards and internal applications to identify where new materials are needed and accurately determine which parts and materials are needed for specific jobs and areas.
Requirements
- 1+ years of demonstrated experience in a material handling or related role within a manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years of driving a crown stand up forklift with a safe driving record.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to operate an electric forklift for indoor and outdoor use.
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to determine accurate order quantities consistently.
- Ability to work independently and meet requirements of assigned materials requests.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities and weights.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team members inside and outside of the department.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as scales and calipers.
- Ability and willingness to follow Health Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team.
- Proficient in using MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
