The Network Analyst, student worker provides day-to-day operational support for SAIT's network environment, ensuring reliability, performance, and security across campus. This position works hands-on with network hardware, cloud networking, unified communications, and application delivery systems while contributing to projects, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements that enhance SAIT's technology landscape.
Requirements
- Support daily network operations by resolving trouble tickets, fulfilling work orders, and maintaining stable network performance.
- Configure network environments as part of project teams to support server, software, and application connectivity.
- Optimize network performance by monitoring systems, troubleshooting outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects.
- Install and maintain network equipment including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless systems, DNS, DHCP, and authentication and authorization tools.
- Support cloud networking by configuring and maintaining networking components in Azure and AWS.
- Manage load balancers by configuring and supporting Application Delivery Controllers and load-balancing solutions.
- Support unified communications by working with Cisco Unified Communications, Avaya IP Office, and Microsoft Teams to maintain SAIT's phone systems.
- Investigate network faults by diagnosing issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain firmware and updates by ensuring network equipment is running the latest releases.
- Collaborate across the institution by working effectively with staff, students, management, and partners.
- Drive innovation by proposing new technologies and platforms to enhance SAIT's network infrastructure.
- Pursue continuous learning through training, publications, lab work, and professional meetups.
