CMP Equipment Engineer

Role Overview

As a CMP Equipment Engineer at Samsung Austin Semiconductor, you will work with a talented team to establish and maintain world-class process/equipment and implement yield enhancement as a competitive advantage. You will identify complex problems and implement solutions, working alongside professionals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include monitoring wafer fabrication equipment, qualifying new manufacturing equipment, coordinating equipment qualifications and downtime, analyzing data to make decisions, and executing in-line changes to the process or equipment.

This role requires 2+ years of prior work experience, a degree in a relevant field, and experience with scripting, statistical methods, and problem-solving. You will work in a 24x7 manufacturing environment and be able to lift up to 35 lbs, wear a clean room suit, and work with hazardous chemicals.

Requirements

• 2+ years prior work experience
• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language
• Understanding of statistical methods and Change Point Management
• Understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles
• Experience with structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc..)
• Software Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.)
• Experience Troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures
• Ability to wear clean room suit and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per the SAS FAB protocol
• Must be able to lift < 35 lbs
• Ability to work in tight fitting, FAB environment and sit at a computer terminal, uses a computer for extended periods of time
• Vision – May be exposed to yellow lights, blinking lights
• Ability to discern audible alarms and ability to potentially work with materials which contain hazardous chemicals
• Ability to support and/or work shift duties in a 24x7 manufacturing environment
