Under the guidance of the Manager, Network Engineering, the Network Engineer III designs the deployment of enterprise networks and defines network best practices and standards for the enterprise.
Requirements
- Works as the technical lead during the design and deployment of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), wireless local-area networks (WLAN), software-defined networking (SDN), and other communications systems, as required.
- Collaborates with partners and manufacturers on defining upgrade and lifecycle network systems and tools.
- Responsible for solutions to complex network issues such as routing, switching and firewalls in a timely manner.
- Assists in defining the strategies used to integrate new software systems into the network.
- Leads the definition of documentation standards for network configuration, mapping, processes, and service records in accordance with network best practices.
- Responsible for troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating day-to-day network issues.
- Maintains the network monitoring, alerting, and analytics platforms for the corresponding network systems.
- Assists in defining the strategy used in monitoring, analytics, and alerting of network systems.
- Responsible for the proactive monitoring and performance validation of network and communications systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
