Safety Coordinator

The Safety Coordinator supports the Health & Safety Manager in maintaining a safe, compliant, and health-conscious workplace within a bakery manufacturing environment. This role provides technical, administrative, and field support for health and safety programs, regulatory compliance, incident management, and employee health monitoring.

Requirements

• Assist the Health & Safety Manager and Health & Safety Department
• Coordinate and support health and safety activities across the facility
• Conduct routine field observations, hazard assessments, and internal audits
• Develop, review, revise, and control safety-related documentation
• Assist with the review, development, implementation, and periodic evaluation of the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program
• Maintain accurate electronic and physical records and databases
• Perform duties related to workers’ compensation claims management
• Actively participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up corrective actions
• Support emergency response activities, drills, and preparedness efforts
• Assist with implementation and tracking of corrective actions resulting from audits, inspections, incidents, and near-miss reports
• Conduct or assist with industrial hygiene-related programs
• Support safety and health training initiatives
• Participate in new equipment evaluations, installations, and pre-operational readiness reviews
• Engage regularly with employees through floor presence, safety conversations, and participation in Joint Safety Council and Safety Council meetings
• Collaborate with Food Safety and Quality Assurance teams
• Communicate safety and health information clearly and professionally to employees and management at all organizational levels
