Job Description
Saronic Technologies is seeking a Composite Design Engineer to lead the structural design, analysis, and integration of composite materials into maritime platforms. The role involves optimizing lightweight, high-performance composite structures for maritime environments and working closely with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and autonomy teams. Focus is on MIL-STD and DoD structural integrity requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in composite structural design
- Strong understanding of composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass, resin infusion, etc.)
- Experience with CAD and FEA software (e.g., Femap, ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Knowledge of mechanical testing, structural validation, and failure analysis
- Understanding of design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) principles
