The Assistant Operator - Extrusion is responsible for operating an extrusion line in a safe and orderly manner, manufacturing a quality product in the most efficient manner possible.
Requirements
- Operate equipment to produce finished goods to production specifications.
- Understand and be able to safely STOP equipment during normal conditions and during an emergency.
- Set Machine up to SOC using the appropriate conditions
- Use a computer system to set run conditions and adjust as necessary within SOC
- Perform Line start up and Line shut down
- Understand and safely operate extruders
- Follow all training documents or standard operating procedures (SOP) to safely and efficiently operate the line
- Ability to use production reporting systems to fulfill job functions
- Always safely operate lab equipment
- Understand all quality lab equipment and be able to operate and adjust as necessary to safely test film samples.
- Assist Process Engineer, Maintenance and Shift Supervisor in trouble shooting.
- Follow the production schedule as issued by production control.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and recycling practices in your work area
- Complete all required computer and paperwork
- Participate in scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities
- Operation of motorized handling devices including Lift truck, walk behind, core extractors, and electric pallet jack
- Wears all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Personal Food Safety (PFS): Beard/Hair Net, hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes. Also wear any additional safety PPE as required.
